Have enough community in your life?

Art of Community conference 2012Gathering.  Sharing.  Collaborating.

Its what we humans do.  Confoundedly, we find ourselves in homes, neighborhoods, and cities that are more supportive of driving, buying, and watching.  Lucky for us, we live in a time when we are changing all that!  Green Key is proud to partner with people and events that catalyze sustainable communities.

Events like the Art of Community are at the forefront of this evolution.  A combination of conference and festival, the Art of Community is a space of tribal remembrance and future creation that is sure to open your mind and life to new ways of creating a more cooperative lifestyle no matter where you live.

Last year at The Art of Community, I was re-ignited in my fire to build more community in ways I hadn’t considered before.  As I result, I have deeper relationships with my neighbors.  I also experienced a significant infusion of professional and personal connections and information.

On September 21-23 in Occidental, CA, seekers, dwellers, teachers, and facilitators will gather and share skills, information, stories, and good times.

Whether you are seeking or forming a community, or if you already live in one, there is plenty to learn about and get jazzed up by at the Art of Community.  If you live in a neighborhood, and want to learn how to transform it into a thriving connected gathering place, then this year’s program is extra ripe for you:  Look at what Mark Lakeman is teaching.

The theme is People, Place, and Purpose and you can come for one day, the full weekend, or to celebrate on Saturday night.  Teachers will cover legalities and financing, decision making, starting or joining a community, conflict resolution, and so much more!  See the full schedule here.

There are also learning intensives after the weekend on the topics of Deep Democracy and Sociocracy.

If this kind of thing really lights your fire, consider the Social Change Summit, on the Monday and Tuesday (Sept 24-25) following the conference where you will conspire with others to bring the communities movement into a larger social context.

Set in the glorious redwoods, this gathering is sure to provide much energy for growth for all participants.  Come join us for all or part of the event and start creating more community in your life.  When you register, enter:  PromoTeam10 to receive a 10% discount.  If you are a student or senior, you already get 25% off admission.

See you there!
