Our CCO on KPFA progressive talk radio with Caroline Casey

Our Chief Community Officer Cassandra Ferrera will be live on 94.1 KPFA this Thursday, August 3rd at 2pm as she joins Caroline Casey on the Visionary Activist show.

They will be having a rousing conversation about several upcoming conferences, gatherings, and festivals within the progressive movement: The Art of Community, GAIA Festival and the West Coast Women’s Permaculture Gathering.  Details about the events will be shared, and tickets will be included as premiums for donations to KPFA’s fund drive.

The Art of Community is an inspiring event located in the beautiful redwoods of Occidental on September 21-23.  People come from all over the country to learn how to build community where they live.  The organizing theme of this year’s conference is People, Place and Purpose, and Cassandra will be co-teaching two workshops:  Finding and Financing your Community with OAEC director, Dave Henson, and Restoring our Relationship to Place with author of Urban Homesteading, Rachel Kaplan.

The Art of Community is a perfect place to develop the skills we need to create a more cooperative culture, and to meet other people who value a community based lifestyle.  There will be leaders and teachers from the intentional communities movement, as well as a keynote by Mark Lakeman of City Repair showcasing how community projects restore ecological balance in urban and suburban environments.  The conference will be followed by a two-day Social Change Summit which will focus on how we can create alliances within the communities movement to create larger cultural shifts.

Tune in on Thursday, August 3rd at 2pm on KPFA to learn more about this and other gatherings that will be fun, mind-opening opportunities to discover and develop relationships with your tribe.
